Held inside the historic Town Hall at 87 Broadway, the Winter Market continues the tradition of offering fresh, local products in a cozy indoor setting.

 

Barrie Farmers’ Market

Older than Canada the Barrie Farmers’ Market has its roots dating back to April 24th, 1846, when the farmers of Simcoe District (now Simcoe County) were granted a piece of land. This grant, detailed on the official letterhead of the Province of Canada, allocated three and a half acres in the shape of a parallelogram, centered around Collier and Mulcaster streets. The grant explicitly stated that the land was to be used solely for the establishment of a Market House and market trading, with no allowance for any other use or purpose.

The market is a year-round celebration of all things local, bringing together the best of Barrie and its surrounding areas every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 70 Collier Street.
